St. Raphael the Archangel Parish is now taking applications for the role of School Principal of our parish school for the coming 2017-18 school year and beyond.

We are searching for an outstanding candidate who will be successful with the following primary responsibilities:

  • Represent and promote the Catholic identity and values of our school
  • Create and maintain a safe and friendly school climate
  • Set expectations and effectively deliver results for academic achievement
  • Selects and develop effective faculty and staff
  • Organize and budget resources appropriately
  • Create good channels of communication with school families
  • Continue to refine our curriculum, and incorporate STREAM aspects into it

Our exciting parochial school includes grades K-8th, plus a pre-school for 3 and 4 year olds.  We currently have 170 K-8 students and are expecting 175-180 next year.  There are about 50 pre-school students.  We also have an after-care program.

Our faculty is an excellent mixture of experience and youth, all of whom are totally dedicated to providing an excellent Catholic education to our students.  The parents of our students are extremely supportive of our school and its many facets.  The curriculum has been updated and improved in the last few years.  We are currently planning to implement some STREAM aspects into the current curriculum.  Our school facilities look very contemporary, with the latest addition coming about 12 years ago.  Our religion program includes all the students coming to 8am Mass, Monday through Thursday, with the opportunity prayer services, stations, or adoration on Fridays.  The pastor keeps contact with the students by teaching a religion class for two grades each week.

The parish and school are on a sound financial footing, due to the generosity of so many in our parish community.

For further information, please contact the current principal, Mrs. Kim Vangel at the school office, 314-352-9474, or the pastor, Father Bob Reiker at the parish office, 314-352-8100.  Resumes can be sent to the pastor at reiker@straphaelarchangel.org.

Welcome to St. Raphael the Archangel Parish

A Welcome Letter from our Pastor

As Pastor of St. Raphael the Archangel Parish  I would like to welcome you to our parish website. It brings me great joy when old and new members join our family in worship. Here at St. Raphael the Archangel, we are continually trying to make this parish a place in which we are able to say “I am finally home.”
We have a mission from Jesus to spread the good news of God’s love and forgiveness. Our call at St. Raphael the Archangel is one of worship and community spirit. We are called to enter into the worship of God at the Masses, yet it cannot end there. If we want to enter fully into parish life, then we must build relationships with other parishioners. There is such richness in our community. We have so much talent, so much energy and we are fun to be with. One way that this can be experienced is by participating in the various ministries or by attending the many parish events that take place at here. We hope this website also helps us get to know each other.
It is because of the parishioners that St. Raphael the Archangel is a vibrant parish with so much to offer.  Welcome to our family. May you be blessed through this community and may the Lord bless this parish through you.

Together with you in Christ,
Father Bob Reiker

I Am St. Raphael Parish!
Dear Lord,
St. Raphael Parish is composed of people like me.
I help make St. Raphael what it is and what it can be.
It will be friendly, if I am.
It will be holy, if I am.
It will be prayerful, if I am.
It will do great work, if I work.
Its pews will be filled, if I come and help fill them.
It will reach out to others to worship, if I invite and bring them.
It will do generous ministry, if I am a generous giver.
It will be a parish of loyalty and love, if I am loyal to it and love all its members.
It will be a parish of compassion, charity, and mercy, if I a filled with these virtues.
Therefore, with the help of God, I now dedicate myself to the task
of being all the things I want my parish to be!
For I am St. Raphael Parish!
