Volunteering

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN CERTIFICATION BEFORE THEY CAN BE SCHEDULED.  PLEASE CONTACT MARY STECK AT 353-5057 WITH QUESTIONS. 

  • Three volunteer opportunities are available everyday.  They are: 
    • Outside/Outside Playground Duty:  This person stays outside for both recesses (5-8 and K-4), then comes into the cafeteria for K-4 lunch.  Volunteer time is 11:40 to12:50. 
    • Outside/Inside Playground Duty:  This person stays outside for the first recess (5-8) and then comes into the cafeteria for 5-8 lunch and K-4 lunch.  Volunteer time is 11:40 to 12:50.
    • Cafeteria Duty:  This person helps Mrs. Ruggeri prepare, serve, and clean up after lunch.  Volunteer time is 11 to 1.      
  • When signing up to volunteer, please let Kim Kaiser know which of the three duties for which you are volunteering.
  • Please show up for the times for which you have volunteered.  The safety of our children depends on you!  If you cannot make a time for which you have volunteered, please help us find a replacement. 
  • Please make yourself familiar with the rules for the playground and cafeteria (playground rules are on-line under the School/Student Life section). 
  • There will always be a teacher on duty on the playground and in the cafeteria.  You can always ask the teacher on duty for help. 
  • Please refrain from using cell phones, texting, or emailing while on duty.  Our students need your undivided attention. 
  • Remember, St. Raphael School is a bully-free zone and bullying will not be tolerated.  If you witness bullying on the playground or in the cafeteria, stop the behavior, then notify a teacher or the principal immediately.  The teacher or principal WILL address the problem immediately! 
  • Thank you for giving SRA your time!  Our students and faculty appreciate your generosity! 

There are also many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year.  These include helping as room parent, assisting with Trivia Night, Black & Gold Auction, Grandparent's Day, Family Masses and many more.  All are welcome and encouraged to volunteer! There are no mandatory volunteer hours or fundraising required at St. Raphael.  For more information, please call the school office at 314-352-9474.
