Dear Friends,
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go…” at Saint Raphael the Archangel School. Decorations are up, holiday themed art work adorns our halls and the students and faculty have put their hearts into preparations for our all school play “Christmas Court in Fableland.” Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and family that came out yesterday to enjoy the Christmas program. The students did a great job! Special thanks to Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Hickey for all their hard work in preparing the students and to all our students that worked very hard and did an amazing job!
The spirit of Christmas fills the air and understandably the last few days before break has challenged my academic focus. I am certain that the Christmas holidays will provide not only me, but our whole school community, a well deserved rest and rejuvenation. I want to personally thank all those who gave Christmas gifts to the teachers and staff at St. Raphael the Archangel School. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by all. We are so blessed by your support and you are truly partners in our success!
Also, since snow is always a possibility during this season; all are reminded that when inclement weather is threatening to check for school closings on one of the major television stations of 2, 4, & 5. Also a text message will be sent to your phone with pertinent information as well. Text messages are only sent when we will close—be assured that we will use this feature carefully. Further, we will only use our Emergency Calling Tree procedure for instances other than weather. The Emergency Calling procedure has not been used in a couple years and affords us a communication avenue to use in addition to text messaging.
Finally, please keep in your prayers third grader Mackenzie (Kenzie) Sampson-Walk’s family who experienced a house fire last weekend. Their home was extensively damaged by smoke and many possessions and gifts were lost. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we celebrate this blessed season. Any donations to Kenzie (8), Mason (2), and their parents can be dropped off at the rectory or school office.
Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas from all of us at Saint Raphael the Archangel School!
